River Moy Angling Report Week ending 16-06-2024
Water ranges at Ballylahan fluctuated barely this week with two slight rises on Monday and once more on Friday with water ranges dropping off on Sunday night returning to 0.4 m on Monday morning 17th June. Catches had been up considerably with a complete reported catch this week of 227 salmon for the system though some fisheries reported low ranges of angling.
Moy Fishery
A lot improved catches within the Moy Fishery this week with 32 salmon caught, of which 18 had been launched exhibiting a big dedication to catch and launch with over half of fish caught launched. Twenty-one fish had been caught on the Ridge Pool, 6 had been caught on the Cathedral Beat and 5 had been caught within the Weir Pool with weights starting from 2.5 lbs to 13 lbs.
Ballina Salmon Anglers
A complete of 35 salmon had been reported caught this week with 25 caught on the worm, 4 on the fly and 6 spinning. The bulk had been grilse from 2.5 lbs and seven lbs.
Mount Falcon Property
A complete of three salmon had been reported caught for the week with weights starting from 3.5 lbs to five lbs. Two of the fish had been taken on the spinner with the third fish taken on the fly.
Knockmore Salmon Anglers
Kenneth reported 3 salmon caught for the week. Primarily grilse taken on the worm and the prawn with weights various from 4 lbs to six lbs. General, angling stress was low.
Attymass Angling Membership
Kevin reported 7 salmon caught this week with weights various from 4 lbs to eight lbs. The fish had been caught primarily on the prawn and general angling exercise was quiet.
Byrnes Fishery
Roy reported 5 grilse caught this week with weights starting from 3 lbs as much as 5 lbs. All fish had been taken on the worm.
Armstrong Fishery
George reported 7 salmon caught for the week taken on the bubble and fly and prawn. The heaviest fish weighed 12 lbs.
Gannon’s Fishery
Pat reported 11 salmon caught for the week of which 1 was launched. The heaviest fish weighed 9 lbs with all strategies profitable this week together with spinning, worming, bubble and fly and the shrimp. Just like another stories, angling stress was down.
The Foxford Fishery
Granville reported 16 salmon caught of which 4 had been launched. The heaviest fish weighed 10.5lbs and was caught spinning.
Reviews had been acquired of 6 salmon caught this week within the Foxford city space. The bubble and fly gave the impression to be most profitable technique with most fish ranging between 4 lbs and 5 lbs with the most effective weighing 8 lbs.
