AMS Denali Expedition Updates – June 7

An AMS workforce descends on the ridge at 16,500 ft on Denali.

DWB #4 (Might 20) — Led by Nate Emerson and Claire Bicknell are climbing down from excessive camp in the present day in the direction of 14,200 ft. This epic crew accomplished two robust days of climbing at excessive altitude and, yesterday, climbed to 18,600 ft earlier than returning safely again to Excessive Camp. We’re further happy with this workforce for aiding a distressed climber on their descent. AMS Headquarters is happy to welcome this workforce again in just a few days!

DWB #5 (Might 23) — Led by Simon Frez-Albrecht, Dylan Van Rozeboom, and John Goeckermann seized a summit alternative on Denali with a climate window late final night time! Congratulations to climbers Shogo, Matt, and Eva with guides Simon and Dylan for his or her super accomplishment of reaching North America’s highest level at 20,310 ft. This workforce is on the transfer again down the mountain in the present day and will probably be staying at 14,200 ft tonight. We’re excited to have this crew again quickly!

DWB #6 (Might 27) — Led by Nickel Wooden, Travis Powell, and Evan Clupper are carrying to the ridge at 16,500 ft in the present day. Together with the surroundings, this workforce will acclimatize and cache a few of their gear on the ridge in preparation for his or her transfer to excessive camp in just a few days.

DWB #7 (June 2)  Led by Larry Holmgren and Matt Schiffner are heading round Windy Nook in the present day at 13,500 ft to cache a few of their gear after spending yesterday at 11,000 ft resting. They’ll return that elevation later in the present day and plan to maneuver to 14,200 ft camp tomorrow.

DWB #8 (June 3)  Led by Michelle Leonard, Roberta Schoultz, and Nadine Lehner are heading to 11,000 ft camp in the present day after carrying yesterday to 9,500 ft! Lead information Michelle “Meesh” experiences that this workforce is in stellar spirits—their camp has been crammed with giggles currently! They are going to be constructing some sturdy partitions tonight at camp and resting tomorrow in preparation for his or her carry to Windy Nook in just a few days. 

DWB #9 (June 7)  Led by Porter Crockard and Ryan Griffiths are packing with their climber, Thomas, at AMS Headquarters in the present day and strategizing for his or her climb. That is Thomas’s second time climbing on Denali with AMS and we’re so excited to welcome him again in Talkeetna this summer time. The workforce is having fun with some sunny climate right here at headquarters and plan to fly into base camp tomorrow!
