The dumping grounds, often called “The Dump,” lies roughly 30 nautical miles southeast of Block Island and 30 nautical miles south of Martha’s Winery. It’s roughly a 10-nautical-mile by 10-nautical-mile sq. that lies within the coronary heart of the offshore fishing grounds for fishermen departing from japanese New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. 

Situated about 30 miles south of Martha’s Winery, The Dump is a well-liked vacation spot for anglers from Lengthy Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Cape Cod. Its title is derived from the unexploded bombs that had been dumped there by the navy.
